After 4 years of successful dealership for Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge in Moldova the management of CRAISLER Motors Moldova decided to expand its offer of new motorcars.
The idea was to introduce an absolutely new brand to the Moldovan market – primarily to be able to offer reliable cars at affordable democratic prices. The company made a preliminary marketing research in the potential options; however, the solution was suggested quite unexpectedly by the headquarters of DaimlerChrysler AG.
In 2000 Chrysler-Jeep Corporation acquired a majority stake in a motorcar corporation with centuries of samurai history – Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC). The acquisition became a decisive factor for the decision in favor of this Japanese motorcar brand. Shortly thereafter CRAISLER Motors Moldova made a formal presentation of Mitsubishi to the Moldovan market.
