The Justice Ministry has refused to register the public association Noua Dreapta (New Right) as the documents submitted to this end contained a string of deficiencies.

According to a press release by the Justice Ministry, in addition to the found deficiencies, the institution is also concerned about media reports according to which one of the founders of the above-mentioned organization is affiliated to the doctrine of the Romanian New Right Movement, which promotes an extremist and xenophobe message and backs the legionnaire movement.

"Given the fact that in line with Article 6 paragraph 1 of the law on foiling extremist activities, Moldova prohibits the creation of public organizations, which are aimed at carrying out extremist activities, the Justice Ministry turned down the registration application of the public association New Right," the ministry's communiqué said.

Created on 1 October 2009, the public association New Right submitted registration documents to the Justice Ministry on 18 February 2010.
