The Moldovan commercial banks continue lowering rates on deposits.
EuroCreditBank declared the decrease in the interest rate on the ‘Olimpic’ deposit by 1%. In the terms of lei the interest will constitute 9%, if you place your financial resources for 12 months, in Euro and U. S. Dollar – 4%. This is already the third rate decrease on this deposit from the beginning of the year.
Universalbank lowered its rates, as well as the rates on call deposits for juridical and physical persons in national currency and in foreign currency twofold to 0.5%, in lei and to 0.2% in foreign currency from March 15.
The bank opened also the new deposit type in USD and EUR for physical persons “Prosper Prim”. The term of the deposit is 6/12 months, the minimal sum is 500 USD/EUR, the interest is paid out monthly, and resources can be withdrawn at any time provided a written-off amount does not exceed 20% of the original amount.
The interest rate is fixed - 5% for a 6-month term and 6% - for a twelve-month term.
Universalbank declared that all its clients-depositors, who opened or prolonged any deposits in foreign currency before March 14, 2010, have the right to denounce them ahead of time and without re-calculation of their present deposits and to transfer them into the ‘Prosper Prim’ deposit, provided the deposit currency is not changed. The offer is valid until June 15.
By the beginning of spring Energbank prepared a new deposit “Srochny” for a 12-month term. The interest rate on the deposit is 14.5% in lei, 6.5% - in USD and 6% - in EUR –The rate is floating, the minimal original account is 3 thousand lei or 300 USD/EUR.
