Russian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs/State Secretary Grigory Karasin has begun his three-day-long visit to the Republic of Moldova on Monday.
In Chisinau, the high-ranked diplomat will have meetings with the country’s leadership, members of parliament, representatives of main political parties, and will hold consultations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.
The parties will discuss topical questions of bilateral interaction in the external political sphere, questions of international and regional cooperation, and perspectives of the development of domestic political situation in Moldova. According to the press release issued by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs before the visit, Grigory Karasin will express his country’s interestedness in a consistent and stable development of the Republic of Moldova, in the strengthening of its sovereignty and neutrality status as an essential prerequisite for settling the Transnistria conflict.
While in Tiraspol, Grigory Karasin will hold meetings with the leadership of the Transnistrian region, in the Transnistrian supreme soviet [parliament] and in the region’s ministry of foreign affairs.
