Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Issues Victor Osipov stated he knows no details of the recent incident that involved a Moldovan policeman, who had allegedly crossed the Transnistrian border illegally and knocked down a Transnistrian border guard with his car. However, Osipov presumes the incident could well be conceived and staged by Transnistrian security service, or this could be a usual traffic accident. Speaking at a news conference here, he recommended the Transnistrian authorities to abolish their border service, “so nobody will be injuring its officers… Transnistria does need border-guards. Tiraspol ought to eliminate all the barriers that only complicate a free movement of people”.
