Stela Surkichyan, the mother of Ilie Cazac, has been reported missing by her family.
Alexandr Vinitski, the husband, has told Info-Prim Neo that the woman left yesterday for Bender, their home town, and hasn't answered her phone since. None of the family knows where she might be. “I'm very worried. I've called the Government and the OSCE to find my wife. I'm in despair, my son has been detained and now my wife has gone missing”.
Mrs Surkichyan went to Bender to pay some bills in Bender, her husband said. He fears that her disappearance might be related to her recent interview with a “news agency from Prague”.
Ilie Cazac, 24, was a tax inspector in Bender before being arrested in March by the Transnistrian forces on charges of treason and spying in favor of Moldova, under which he faces 20 years in prison. His parents protested for almost two months in front of the Russian Embassy in Chisinau seeking his release.
