Liberal Democrat leader Vlad Filat said his party would participate separately in the snap parliamentary elections and not in a bloc with the other parties forming the Alliance for European Integration, Info-Prim Neo reports.

Filat made the announcement after walking out of an Alliance's meeting on Wednesday.

Vlad Filat said his party had assumed greater responsibility than the other Alliance fellow parties in the pre-referendum campaign and thus decided to run separately. “The people should know exactly who to vote for and whom to offer their trust”.

The Liberal Democrats propose that the duration of the election campaign should be halved to 30 days, a measure that could be discussed tomorrow in Parliament. So far the other Alliance member parties have been against the measure.
