The Moldovan Government has adopted a Resolution on establishing a National Board for integrated management of the state border – in the context of the Government-initiated procedure of liberalization of visa-free travel regime with the European Union.
The document has motivated the Board creation as follows: it is necessary to unite the efforts of the structures responsible for drafting the National Strategy of an integrated management of the state border in line with modern requirements and with the EU member countries’ experience, particularly in the sphere of coordinating actions to prevent and reveal illegal migration and other trans-border crimes.
According to the Resolution, the Board shall be a consultative organ consisting of the representatives of the Border Service, Customs Service, Ministry of the Interior, and Information and Security Service.
