Poachers are not stopped by spawning
Despite a prohibition on fishing that came into effect on April 15 owing to the spawning, two poachers have been detained at the Prut River near the village of Cuhonestii Noi, Edinet raion. Border officers confiscated not only they fishing tools (a net and rods), but also 30 of fish, including that protected by the Red List of Threatened Species. Since the prohibition was introduced, 15 cases of illegal fishing were registered and 28 persons were detained. Altogether, police confiscated about 900 meters of nets and several hundreds kg of fish.
