The State Road Administration today distributed 12 vehicles meant to restore roads based on a new technology. To this end, the Transport and Road Infrastructure Ministry purchased Russian equipment worth 11 million lei (over 700,000 euros). The money was allotted from the Road Fund.

At the formal ceremony held on this occasion, Transport and Road Infrastructure Minister Anatol Salaru said that the new vehicles will make it possible to halve the time spent for road restoration and to cut by 40 per cent the asphalt-filling expenses, due to the fact that the new vehicles are able to autonomously produce asphalt.

Road restoration is among the priorities of the Moldovan government. Lately restoration works, financed mainly by the West, have started on a number of national roads.
