The 32nd meeting of the heads of the Council of Security and Intelligence Services of the Commonwealth of Independent States was held in Chisinau on 31 May. The conference was chaired by the director of the Russian Federal Security Service, Aleksandr Bortnikov. Moldova was represented by Security and Information Service (SIS) deputy director Valentin Dediu. Moreover, delegations of the German, French and Italian intelligence services attended the meeting as observers. Bortnikov said that the participants in the meeting examined several reports on the fulfilment of the cooperation programmes between the CIS member states, on the fight against international terrorism and extremism and on their mutual inter-action in the struggle against criminality, in 2011-2013. The participants in the meeting exchanged opinions on the activity of the trans-border criminal gangs, dealing with the misappropriation of the private and state-owned financial assets, as well as on the concerted efforts for the identification of people suspected of terrorist and extremist activities. The officials also approached the deepening of the cooperation in the prevention and fight against international terrorism, transnational organized crime, cyber terrorism, as well as other infringements which affect the regional and general security climate.
