President Nicolae Timofti and his team will move to the building that is situated opposite the State Residence on Nicolae Iorga St. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, the President’s public relations consultant Vlad Turcanu said the transfer will take place at the start of next week.

The Presidential Building that housed all the offices of the presidential team was destroyed during the April 7, 2009 protests and since then has been under repair.

The State Chancellery is responsible for the repair works. Earlier, the Government’s deputy secretary general Eduard Banaruc told Info-Prim Neo that the works were stopped as there is no financing. About 74 million lei was spent on the reconstruction works in 2009 and 24 million lei in 2010.

The works were 50% completed. Another 112 million lei is needed to finish them. This sum does not include the costs for outfitting the offices.
