Moldova has hosted the first meeting of the Informal Dialogue within the Eastern Partnership (PaE), according to the Foreign and European Integration Ministry's information and press relations service. The meeting in this format was organized at the initiative of the European Commission and the European External Action Service and was meant to strengthen the cooperation and the dialogue between the PaE and EU states in line with the principles and goals of the PaE Summit. At the same time, the informal dialogues will not replace the PaE's traditional cooperation and dialogue formats. The participants in the meeting discussed the latest evolutions in the implementation of reforms by the partner-states after the PaE Summit held in September 2011, as well as the key-priorities in implementing the PaE roadmap, both at bilateral and multilateral levels. The document is viewed by the partner-states as a platform for increasing the efficiency of the PaE's activities, and for ensuring a wider visibility of the attained results, for the citizens of the partner-states. An important issue on the agenda of the meeting was the preparation for the next summit of the PaE, which will be held during Lithuania's EU presidency. The Eastern and EU partners exchanged opinions at the informal meeting. Thus, the European Union reconfirmed the potential of this discussion format for outlining and turning to account the cooperation and dialogue consolidation opportunities for the next period. Attending the meeting were EU Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighbourhood Policy Stefan Fule, Deputy Secretary General of the External Action Service Helga Schmid, Deputy Prime Ministers of Ukraine and Georgia, Deputy Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Belarus, as well as Azeri Ambassador to Chisinau. The Moldovan delegation was headed by Foreign and European Integration Minister, Deputy Premier Iurie Leanca.
