The fight between the backers and opponents of Transnistrian leader Yevgeniy Shevchuk has reached the final stage. Shevchuk and his team started eliminating the former head of the Transnistrian state security ministry, Vladimir Antyufeyev, from the political stage. For more details, please see the Transnistrian news bulletin. On 5 June, the Transnistrian official media have reported that a criminal case was initiated against Antyufeyev, who is accused of "abuse of power". At the same time, the Transnistrian bodies have evidence of Antyuefeyv s financial scams. Analysts have said that Shevchuk's team will not win easily, because Antyufeyev has close relations in the Russian secret services and will attempt to discredit Shevchuk in Moscow. In addition, Shevchuk's opponents will look for ways to get into touch with Vladimir Putin's entourage, and first of all Deputy Prime Minister Dmirtiy Rogozin, who represents the Russian president in Transnistria. The Transnistrian News Bulletin is a MOLDPRES product published in Russian, Romanian and English every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday respectively.
