Moldcell has been awarded SR ISO/CEI 27001:2006 certificate
Moldcell has been certified primierly for corporate excellence in the protection of personal data in a ceremony held Thursday, June 7, at company headquarters in Chisinau.
Information Security Management System (ISMS) applied by Moldcell has been recognized with an international certificate of compliance which meets the requirements of SR ISO / IEC 27001:2006. Moldcell certification audit was conducted in April by the team of "Rina Simtex", a leading certification company in Romania.
Rina Simtex chief auditor, Mihail Guzun, said that Moldcell is the first mobile operator in Moldova ISO certified. At the same time, Rina Simtex reprezentative stressed that it was very pleasant to analyze Moldcell internal processes.
„Based on Information Security management system inspection results, we confirm that information security is a paramount importance objective for Moldcell”, highlited Rina Simtex chief auditor. „This represents a major competitive advantage in favor of the operator in front of its customers and partners. We strongly believe that operator’s subscribers can have confidence in Moldcell because this company does not disclose data or any other information it possesses thanks to its activity".
Moldcell General Director, Chiril Gaburici, said in turn that the implementation of ISMS is a strategic decision for any company, because it guaranties the security of information in all aspects, including customers and business partners.

The certificate that we received is an evidence for Moldcell customers and partners that we identify, manage and minimize threats which could affect or damage the stored information. We are proud of this international appreciation that confirms our commitment to do our work correctly and with devotion”, pointed out Moldcell CEO.
Moldcell Certification on Information Security Management System is a concrete step in line with the European Parliament Directive, 94/46/EC on personal data processing and free movement of data. Being a company with high social corporate responsibility, Moldcell promotes policies of compliance with country's legislation as well as with fundamental human rights and freedoms. Description of ISO certification
SR ISO / IEC 27001:2006 certification provides confidence and certainty to customers and company partners because:
- It demonstrates that Moldcell applies and respects legislation,
- It ensures protection of personal data from disclosure or incorrect use,
- It is a demonstration that all employees know and respect provisions on information security policy,
- Security policy and procedures related to the use of personal data are regularly evaluated and updated,
- It ensures strict compliance with privacy protection requirements not only within the company, but also with third parties,
- It ensures confidentiality, integrity and availability of data related to information security and business processes.
Note:
1. Law of Moldova on personal data protection No.133 from 08.07.2011 entered into force on 14.04.2012. The purpose of the law is to ensure protection of fundamental rights and freedoms of natural persons in relation to processing of personal data. This law creates the necessary legal framework for the European Parliament Directive 94/46/EC on processing of personal data and free movement of data.
2. After external audit 3 years ago, Moldcell became the first mobile operator in the country to obtain the ISO 9001:2008 Certificate, confirming that the quality management system of the operator meets all requirements of the international standard. In December 2011 this certificate was reconfirmed and prolonged till 2014. Today Moldcell reconfirmed its status of a company that continuously works on improving not only the quality of its services, products and processes, but information security.
3. Rina Simtex is one from the leading certification companies from Romania. The Company has15 years experience working as European certification body, joined early this year an Italian group, Rina S.p.a, one of the oldest and most reputable certification bodies in Europe and in the World.
