A draft promoted by the opposition Party of Communists (PCRM) to organize hearings on media freedom has been included on the parliament's agenda with a majority vote. The lawmakers of the ruling Alliance for European Integration unanimously voted for this. "The parliament's Standing Bureau voted against the draft because there was no way for it to meet the request that it should be included on the agenda for the next two weeks. I propose that this issue should be included on the agenda of the meeting on 28-29 June," Parliament Speaker Marian Lupu said. The inclusion of the PCRM draft on the agenda was also welcomed by the leader of the parliamentary faction of the Liberal Democratic Party, Valeriu Strelet. "This is a good proposal to organize hearings on the matter, and we have what to say in this respect," Strelet said.
