Mihai Viteazul and Petricani streets to be extended

The Chisinau streets Mihai Viteazul and Petricani will be extended in parts. The curbs will be replaced and there will be built up new sidewalks, parking lots, passages for persons in wheelchairs and tracks for bicyclists. Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca Saturday paid an inspection visit to the two streets that are under repair, Info-Prim Neo reports.

According to a communiqué from the Chisinau City Hall, the mayor was informed about the stages implemented by the contractor Genesis SRL and the volume of works that is to be performed in the immediate future. In order to finish the repair works by the end of September, as planned, the municipal companies Exdrupo and SA Edilitate were also engaged in the works.

The mayor also inspected Vadul lui Voda St that is being extended. The works are carried out by SA Edilitate and will last by the end of the year. Dorin Chirtoaca said the works will be executed according to standards as the quality of the repair works is the most important aspect.

Under the street rehabilitation program of Chisinau, the streets Mihai Viteazul, Petricani, Vadul lui Voda, and Grigore Vieru will be fully repaired by this yearend. The rehabilitation of another five road sections initiated in 2011 will also be completed by the end of this year. The Chisinau City Hall took out a loan of 162 million lei to repair the streets. So far, it has used 50 million lei of this sum.
