Moldovan premier meets EU commissioner

Prime Minister Vlad Filat met EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Stefan Fule today, the government's communication and press relations department has reported.

The meeting took place within the ninth international conference, "Georgia's European Way: The EU and Its European Neighbours," held in Batumi, Georgia.

The sides exchanged opinions on the Moldova-EU relations, and reviewed the latest evolutions in terms of the implementation of Moldova's European agenda and prospects of the country's advancement on this path.

Stefan Fule praised the progress made by Moldova while promoting the reforms. He reiterated the European Commission's full support for Moldova to strengthen the state based on the rule of law and get closer to the European standards in order to achieve the major goal of European integration.

The prime minister thanked for the constant support provided by the European Commission, and personally Commissioner Fule for his attitude towards Moldova. The prime minster gave assurances about the irreversible course of European integration of Moldova. Vlad Filat voiced hope that this objective will be attained as soon as possible, and the Moldovan citizens will fully benefit from the European values.
