City Hall announces design contest for monument of victims of Soviet occupation
Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca signed an ordinance to organize a contest for the design of monuments to victims of Soviet occupation, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to a press release of the City Hall, the future monument will be placed on the axis of Chisinau’s historical center, on the main street of the capital. The development of the sculptural conception will take into consideration the best architectural and artistic traditions of existing monuments in the country and abroad.
The design sketches for the contest can be presented to the contest secretary Sergiu Gatmaniuc until October 19, 2012 (the division for architecture, urbanism and land relations, office 204) or mailed to the City Hall, Stefan cel Mare Avenue no.83, with the subject “‘Victims of the regime’ Contest”.
The deadline for the contest organization is October 31, 2012.
