As repair works on the water and sewer pipes conducted in the capital are under way, the utility Apa-Canal Chisinau (ACC) plans to extend the budget for the repairs, as announced by ACC vice director Vitalie Midari at the City Hall's ordinary meeting on Monday.

“Preparations for the cold season are under way. There have been replaced about 8 kilometers of water pipes and one kilometer of sewer pipes. 60 percent of the reservoirs have been washed and 80 pumps have been repaired”, said Vitalie Midari.

ACC conducts rehabilitation projects throughout the city and makes every effort to complete the works within reasonable time-frames. According to Midari, repair works on Muncesti Street should be completed in two weeks and those on Burebista Street in three or four weeks. Repairs on the streets Bucuriei and Bunet are about to be completed, while on other streets they are about to begin.

The current ACC's 2012 budget foresees a total 93 million lei for installations, repair and maintenance.
