Moldova and Turkey resolute to shore up relations in security field

Moldovan Minister of the Interior Dorin Recean discussed at a meeting with Turkish Ambassador to Moldova Mehmet Selim Kartal the security issues in the context of the upcoming liberalization of the visa regime between the two countries.

According to the press service of the Ministry of the Interior, the diplomat said that the bilateral relations between Turkey and Moldova in the field of home affairs have always been good. He also said that the Turkish authorities are willing to consolidate the relations with the Moldovan side.

“In this context, the Ministries of the Interior of both states should boost up cooperation in order to attain mutually-advantageous results,” he said, adding that “the Turkish authorities are open for cooperation and for providing the needed support in the reformation of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Moldova.”

For his part, Moldovan Minister Dorin Recean expressed his willingness to undertake efforts for strengthening the bilateral cooperation, in particular, in the security field.
