EU ready to sign Association Agreement with Moldova in 2013
The European Union is ready to sign the Association Agreement with the Republic of Moldova in 2013, announced yesterday José Manuel Durão Barroso, President of the European Commission, during the annual conference of the heads of the EU Delegations.
Speaking about the neighborhood policy, José Manuel Barroso said that the negotiations on association agreements and agreements on the creation of free trade agreements have started with 4 out of 6 member states of the Eastern Partnership, TRIBUNA reports.
“We have concluded negotiations with Ukraine, but the signing of the agreement will depend on Kyiv’s commitment to the European values. I hope that by the 3rd Eastern Partnership Summit, which will take place next year, more of these agreements will be concluded, notably with Moldova”, said the President of the European Commission.
He added that these countries need an active and influential Europe, and the rest of the world also wants Europe to be able to play a full role in the neighborhood policy and global business. The President of the European Commission stressed that the neighborhood policy is a priority of the EU.
