Government’s Secretary General Victor Bodiu today participated in the launching of “Computing-M-Cloud week in the government” by the Centre for Electronic Governing, the government’s communication and press relations department has reported.

The director of the Centre for Electronic Governing, Stela Mocan, reported on the opportunities of the M-Cloud technology platform. Mocan said this system is meant to improve the quality of data management, information security and public services’ efficiency.

Bodiu said the centre’s team in partnership with the development partners from the Dutch and Swedish governments, as well as the World Bank colleagues contributed to the project’s launch.

Bodiu noted that the project’s implementation is part of the e-transformation agenda and of other implemented projects. It has two major goals, namely, quality public services and transparent and efficient governing.

Bodiu also said to meet the goals, the civil servants will use modern communication technologies, and the public sector will operate on the basis of a joint technological infrastructure streamlined to ensure enhanced efficiency and quality public services.

“It is important to have a single centre for storing data. The M-Cloud platform will allow the central public authorities to supply high quality services, faster and at lower costs. At the same time, it will help improving the intra- and inter-departmental cooperation in the institutions”, Bodiu said.

He said the government will be open for any cooperation with international partners, private sector and all those willing to transform the governing into a digital and advanced one.

Within the “Computing-M-Cloud week in the government” on 11-15 February, there will be organized joint talks between the public and private sectors on aspects related to the EU e-governing agenda and other sectors.

The platform won the international prize “Best Cloud Project in Central & Eastern Europe”.
