EBRD reduced forecast on GDP growth in Moldova in 2011 from 4,2% to 3,5%

This is stated in recent regional economic prospects of the EBRD on developing countries of Southern and Central Europe, and Middle Asia as well. The EBRD forecast on Moldova’s GDP growth for 2010 unchanged – 4%. According to the EBRD, Moldova continues to recover from the crisis due to support of IFI financing and greater remittances from abroad from migrant workers. However, the immediate growth prospects are limited by continuing political uncertainty.

In tote, the EBRD reduced the forecast on GDP growth in developing countries of Southern European countries and the Caucasus in 2011 from 4,2% to 3,9%. As it was previously reported, Moldova’s GDP in I quarter of 2010 increased by 4,7%, in 2009 – reduced by 6,5% as compared to 2008. The International Monetary Fund forecasts for 2010 Moldova’s GDP growth by 2.5% in Moldova, in 2011 – by 3,6%, in 2012 – by 5%. The World Bank forecasts for 2010 Moldova’s GDP growth by 2,5%, in 2011 – by 3,6%, in 2012 – by 4,5%.
