Retail trade volume of consumer products in January-June 2010 amounted to 11 billion 114,3 million leis

As InfoMarket agency was informed in the National Bureau of Statistics, the growth of retail sales was due to increase of nonfoods sales by 10,1% - up to 7 billion 390,9 million leis and sales of foodstuffs – by 2,5% - up to 3 billion 723,4 million leis.

The growth of retail trade volume was registered by the mixed ownership enterprises (with foreign capital) (+11,4%), and by private companies (+6,8%). At the same time, the sales at mixed (public and private) trading companies have reduced by 12,4% and sales at the state companies - by 0,9%, respectively.

The largest share in the total volume of retail sales accounted for Chisinau – 59,2% and Balti - 7,7%, followed by Gagauzia - 2,8%, Cahul region – 2%, Orhei region – 1,8%, Edinet and Ungheni regions – 1,7% each, Soroca and Drochia regions – 1,6% each. In June 2010 the trading companies have sold goods totaling to 2 billion 10,4 million leis or by 0,2% more than in May 2010 and by 8,3% more than in June 2009.
