As InfoMarket agency was informed in the National Bureau of Statistics, the growth of retail sales was due to increase of nonfoods sales by 10,1% - up to 8 billion 947,4 million leis and sales of foodstuffs – by 2,9% - up to 4 billion 396,6 million leis. The growth of retail trade volume was registered at the joined ownership enterprises (with foreign capital) (+11,9%), at private companies (+7,1%) and at public ownership enterprises (+0,1%). At the same time, the sales at the mixed (public and private) trading companies have reduced by 11,9%. The largest share in the total volume of retail sales fell to Chisinau – 58,6% and Balti - 7,7%, followed by Gagauzia - 2,9%, Cahul region – 2,1%, Orhei region – 1,9%, Edinet, Ungheni and Soroca regions – 1,7% each, and Drochia region – 1,6%. In July 2010 the trading companies have sold goods totaling to 2 billion 198,3 million leis or by 10,4% more than in June 2010 and by 8,9% more than in July 2009.
