The leader of the Democratic Party (PD), Marian Lupu, has expressed concern about the fact that the government failed to meet the deadline for the elaboration of fiscal and budgetary policies. At a today's news conference, Lupu said that Moldova should have a budget approved till the end of the year regardless of the political events due this autumn.
"It is a call to all members of the cabinet and colleagues from the parliament. It is already the end of August, and regardless of the political situation, I cannot accept the fact that Moldova might have no budget or fiscal policy in the year to come," Lupu said.
"It is not my own wish, it is about the legislation," Marian Lupu said. The government had to receive the medium-term spending shit from relevant ministries till 10 April and to approve this document till 1 May. On 1 October, the draft law on the 2011 budget had to be sent to the parliament. "It is an issue agreed in line with international financial institutions and I am concerned about the fact that these actions have not been carried out yet," Lupu said.
Lupu said that it was necessary to carry out measures related to fiscal and budgetary policies in order to make a clear image for companies, investors, public authorities, and to avoid eventual paralysis of the national economy.
