PM Vlad Filat has instructed Finance Minister Veaceslav Negruta, Interior Minister Victor Catan and the Anticorruption Center to investigate and present a report on the pricing of bread and related products, in particular the compliance with the markup requirements established for these products of social importance, Info-Prim Neo reports.

The reaction comes after PM Filat met with people in rural areas, including in the flood-affected villages, who told him that bread prices were excessively high.

Furthermore, the prime minister advised Education Minister Leonid Bujor to make sure again that all the children in the flood-affected areas had textbooks. “Some misunderstandings or inadequate coordination have generated problems with this issue”, said Vlad Filat. PM Filat added that the Ministry of Education should ensure that the students from the flooded villages had dormitory accommodation and other conditions for studying.
