Moldova will borrow 10.2 million dollars to continue implementing a project, "Health and Social Assistance Services." The project sees restoration of health centres in rural regions, optimization of the network of hospitals and increasing the number of less well-off residents benefiting from social assistance services. To this end, the parliament today adopted a draft law in two readings on the ratification of a financing agreement between Moldova and the International Development Association on additional financing to implement the project, "Health and Social Assistance Services." The development project's goals are to enhance access to quality health services, in order to reduce the death rate and premature invalidity, as well as to improve the directing of social transfers and services to poor people. To carry out this project, Moldova in 2007 signed an initial project that envisages lending of a 17-million-dollar-worth loan by the World Bank via the International Development Association.
