The Democratic Party “shall be firmly and principally criticizing its colleagues in the governing alliance, and shall be attracting the opposition to the country governance process”, reads the commentary issued by the organization’s press service in response to the criticism against the DP “coming both from right and left”.
The Democratic Party presumes that its resolute actions “have prevented Moldova’s dangerous sliding into the chaos of a grave civil confrontation… The DP has long got used to attacks by liberal parties, and has ceased reacting to them”.
“We have proved in deeds, not in words that we are reliable, occasionally even too reliable partners, so all accusations we hear are fruits of fantasy of the exalted supporters of the liberal parties”, presume the Democrats, who think that the changes that began in the republic in 2009, the creation of a pro-European governing majority in the Parliament and the onset of a real modernization of the country – all this has become possible thank to the firm DP position and to its leader Marian Lupu.
In response to the criticism by the Communists – that the Democratic Party preserves the unity of the Alliance, the Democrats have stated they would feel much more comfortable in a coalition of doctrinally akin parties.
The Democrats are convinced that precisely the Communists have placed Mihai Ghimpu to the country’s highest state post – simply by refusing to vote for a new head of state, that exactly the Communist Party has thrown the country into a new political crisis, into another early election cycle by refusing to take part in a final formation of state power structures in Moldova.
Despite all such attacks from all sides, “the Democratic Party shall continue its hard work to put an end to the ongoing political war, to consolidate the society, to overcome split so as to not deprive Moldova of its chance for modernization and a better life.
