The Democratic Party (PDM) and the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) will participate separately in the early parliamentary elections this fall. Statements on this topic have been made by PLDM parliamentary faction’s leader Mihai Godea and PD’s honorary president Dumitru Diacov, Info-Prim Neo reports.

Mihai Godea said PLDM would participate separately in the elections and that his faction already had a candidate for presidency.

“PDM will take part independently in the early parliamentary elections. That’s for sure”, stated Dumitru Diacov.

Moldova’s acting President Mihai Ghimpu, leader of the Liberal Party (PL), said his party hasn't decided yet. “We won’t force anyone to accept us if they don’t want to”, he stated.

“We are ready to participate independently in the early elections, but we can join the other parties of the Alliance in a joint electoral bloc. I don’t rule out either variant”, stated Serafim Urecheanu, leader of Our Moldova Alliance.

Urecheanu said the 2005 experience didn’t discourage him. He said he would speak about presidential elections only after the referendum this fall.
