Moldova’s Acting President, Parliament Chairman Mihai Ghimpu is taking part in the 3rd World Conference of parliament chairpersons that has opened in Geneva on Monday.
The three-day forum has gathered the heads of legislative assemblies from nearly 150 countries. They are discussing the role played by legislatures in democracy promotion; trust building between the parliament and the people; parliament functioning in the conditions of crises; ensuring of global democratic responsibility; parliaments’ cooperation with the United Nations etc.
Mihai Ghimpu is going to take floor at the global forum, to hold bilateral meetings with the Chairman of the State Council of canton Geneva François Longchamp, Chairperson of the National Council of Switzerland Pascal Bruderer Wyss, Chairman of the National Assembly of Belarus Anatoly Rubinov.
Ghimpu will also meet with the representatives of the Moldovan community in Switzerland.
