Moldova and Belarus are interested in constructive and mutually beneficial cooperation in many fields, it was said during the meeting Moldova’s Acting President, Parliament Chairman Mihai Ghimpu had with Anatoly Rubinov, Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus, in Geneva on Tuesday. Both officials are taking part in the continuing world conference of parliament chairpersons.
The interlocutors discussed the possibilities of realizing a number of joint economic projects, establishment of partnership is various spheres, setting up of Moldo-Belarus joint enterprises.
Mihai Ghimpu called upon Anatoly Rubinov to work out and launch necessary economic mechanisms to facilitate Moldovan wine exports to Belarus. He also asked Belarus to render assistance in mitigating the consequences of ruinous floods, first of all in building dwellings for disaster victims.
Rubinov invited Ghimpu to pay an official visit to Minsk to define the objectives of bilateral and regional cooperation.
