The opposition Party of Socialists (PSRM) has said that the only solution to settle the Transnistrian conflict is Moldova's federalization.

At a today's news conference, PSRM leader Igor Dodon said that, besides the federalization of Moldova, there would be another two scenarios for the country's territorial reintegration, which the Socialists deem as inadmissible. These are the forcible annexation of Transnistria by Moldova and recognition of independence of this region.

Dodon said that, the sooner the Moldovan political class acknowledges that federalization is the sole solution to the state's reintegration, the more rapidly this will be fulfilled. Dodon also said the details of Moldova's federalization are to be discussed by the Tiraspol and Chisinau authorities.

The PSRM leader noted that the Socialists propose to work out a concept of communication between the two banks of the Dniestre. This would imply more concrete actions, focused on the recovery of the economic, social, political and information relations between the left and right banks of the Dniestre.
