Moldovan president, Azerbaijani top official discuss ties
President Nicolae Timofti today had a meeting with Azerbaijani First Deputy Prime Minister Yagub Eyyubov, who is on an official visit to Moldova, the presidential press service has said. The two officials voiced hope that bilateral relations will witness a rise in the next period, given that the Moldovan-Azerbaijani inter-governmental commission for economic cooperation resumed working after a five-year break. President Timofti welcomed the initiation of cultural projects between Moldova and Azerbaijan on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the two countries, marked on 28 May 2012. Azerbaijani Culture Days will be held in Moldova on 11-16 November 2012, and Moldovan Culture Days in Azerbaijan will take place in May 2013. Yagub Eyyubov conveyed to Nicolae Timofti an invitation by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to visit Azerbaijan. President Timofti accepted the invitation.
