Prime Minister Vlad Filat held a meeting with his Romanian counterpart, Victor Ponta, on 9 May, according to the government's communication and press relations department. The meeting was held on the sidelines of Filat's visit to Bucharest. Filat congratulated Ponta on his investment in office, wishing him achievements in his activity. Filat said that over the past two years, the Moldovan-Romanian relations have seen a continuous development and expressed conviction that the same dynamics would be preserved in the future. The two prime ministers reviewed the actions on the bilateral agenda, which have been taken so far, noting that there is a great development potential for future cooperation. Filat and Ponta advocated the diversification and deepening of the bilateral relations in different fields, as well as the collaboration on Moldova's European integration path. After the meeting, the two officials attended the finals of the European Football League (2011-2012) issue, played between the Atletico (Madrid) and Atletic (Bilbao) teams, on the National Arena in Bucharest.
