According to the Ministry of Economy, since the beginning of the year it has been drawn 60,5% of means budgeted. According to the Plan of financing, as of May, 14, 2012 the amount of works completed has been planned at a sum of380 mln. leis, however these funds have not been transferred by the Ministry of Finance to an account of the Road Fund. These findings were voiced at a sitting of the Council of the Road Fund. Members of the Council were informed that the main activities to maintain roads have been constituted in ensuring road traffic in winter season, guarantying road traffic safety, filling in pits and closing up fissures.
The main problems members of the Council identified included those connected with accumulation of road tolls. Participants of the sitting have arranged next time to present proposals to motivate drivers to pay road tolls, which will help to increase the Fund. Vice-Premier, head of the Ministry Valeriu Lazar required for members of the Council to prepare proposals to improve quality of works done since this is the quality which defines how much and what the means are allotted for from the state budget. “Investing in quality means investing in confidence of people” he stressed.InfoMarket
