Criminality is not only the problem of police, but of the entire society, Prime Minister Vlad Filat said at a TV talk show on 4 June. Filat said that the media are so eager to get some sensational reports that they often exaggerate. "The problem lies with the tragic manner in which things are presented. This is unproductive, and they do it because sensations and high audience are the only things they chase. Crimes happen worldwide. This situation is not only the problem of police, because it is impossible to have one policeman responsible for one civilian. It is a problem of our society, and everybody should fight it," he noted. He said that the reform of the Interior Ministry develops as planned, without deviations. "The task of the law enforcers is not to prevent crimes, but to discover them," Filat added. Filat noted that he has not given up reshuffles, but shunned saying when this issue will be resumed.
