Moldova Prime Minister Vladimir Filat will visit Moscow in September to take a part in the Days of Moldovan Culture held in the Russian Federation. The respective agreement has been achieved in a phone talk with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.
According to the Moldovan Government, Medvedev invited Filat to pay an official visit to Moscow in September, and not only related to the Moldovan Culture Days events.
The Premiers agreed to initiate negotiations on an inter-governmental agreement on energy cooperation. Within the negotiations, it is projected to discuss the issues related to Russian natural gas transit via Moldova and Moldova’s gas arrears, as well as Moldova’s implementation of the Third Energy Package.
Moldova will be represented in the energy negotiations by Valeriu Lazar – Deputy Premier and Minister of Economy, and Russia by Minister of Energy Alexander Novak.
Filat and Medvedev also discussed the course of implementation of agreements on Moldovan wine supplies to Russia, agreeing to continue efforts on successful process completion.
The officials said they stand for a fastest signing of an inter-governmental agreement on cooperation in the field of labor migration and temporary activities of labor migrants in the territory of both countries.
