Lawmakers of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly have urged Russian to complete the process of pulling out its troops from Moldova. The request is contained in a resolution on Moldova signed by 60 OSCE MPs, which will be examined in Morocco on 5-9 July. The initiative came from the deputy head of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, Walburga Habsburg Douglas, and if it is approved, it will create better opportunities for dialogue between the Moldovan MPs and the lawmakers of the breakaway Transnistrian region. The resolution also invites the participants in the Transnistrian settlement negotiations to consider replacing the current peacekeeping mechanism with a multinational civil mission operating under international (OSCE's) mandate. It also draws attention to democratization problems in Moldova. The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly is made up of 320 parliamentarians from 55 states from Europe, central Asia and North America.
