Moldovan to get clear-cut EU integration prospects at next Eastern Partnership summit - PM

Moldova hopes to be given clear-cut European integration prospects at the next summit of the Eastern Partnership, due in Vilnius in late 2013, Moldovan Prime Minister said upon his return from his three-day visit to Georgia.

The prime minister said he participated in a Summit of the European People's Party held in Tbilisi, noting that the participants decided to hold the Eastern Partnership Summit next year. "We are set to get a clear-cut European perspective at that summit. By that time, we are planning to complete the talks on the Moldovan-EU association agreement," Filat said.

He added that a summit of Foreign Ministers of the European states would be held in Chisinau in September 2013. At the event, the participants will prepare the organization of the summit due in Vilnius.

Filat also said that he had signed four agreements with the Georgian side: an accord on the visa-free regime, an agreement on the healthcare and medical sciences' field, an agreement on the international road traffic and an agreement on the cooperation in the customs field.

Speaking about the domestic policy, the prime minister backed the initiative of the junior coalition partner Liberal Party to condemn the Communism and Nazism and asked Communist leader Vladimir Voronin to publicly apologise for the invectives against Transport Minister Anatol Salaru.
