Lawmakers of the opposition Party of Communists, of the Party of Socialists and non-affiliated lawmaker Mihai Godea spoke against the early closure of the spring-summer parliamentary session. The leader of the Party of Socialists, Igor Dodon said that this parliament session should not close so fast, as the MPs have to examine a wide range of important draft laws. A Communist lawmaker Iurie Muntean was also dissatisfied with the decision to close the parliamentary session several weeks earlier. "Under the current circumstances, they are closing the parliamentary sittings three weeks earlier. The parliament's meetings should be held until late July, as provided for in the legislation," Muntean said. Non-affiliated lawmaker Mihai Godea said that the parliament should activate another week, because the MPs have to hear the activity reports of several state institutions. The Parliament's Permanent Bureau decided on 10 July that the last meeting of the parliamentary spring-summer session would be held on 12 July.
