Four Moldovan parties would make it to parliament, should elections take place next Sunday - poll
Four political parties would make it to parliament, should parliamentary elections be held next Sunday, according to an opinion poll, "Citizens' Political Preferences: 2012 Summer," unveiled today. Thus, as much as 31.6 per cent of the respondents would vote for the opposition Party of Communists, 20.7 per cent for the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM), the Liberal Party would pick up 8.4 per cent of the suffrages, and the Democratic Party (PDM) - 7.9 per cent of the ballots. The poll shows that 75 per cent of the respondents are absolutely sure and sure that they would come to vote at the polls, if they are organized next Sunday. About 9 per cent of the polled people said they are sure that they will not vote. At the same time, 38.8 per cent of the respondents said the public person in whom they have full confidence or they would sooner trust is Prime Minister Vlad Filat. He is followed by PCRM leader Vladimir Voronin, in whom 38.4 per cent of the polled people have confidence. Chisinau mayor Dorin Chirtoaca follows on top with 37.3 per cent, Parliament Speaker Marian Lupu with 30.5 per cent, PL leader Mihai Ghimpu and President Nicolae Timofti with about 23 per cent each. At the same time, 43.3 per cent of the respondents speak out in favour of the dissolution of the present parliament and organization of snap elections. Another 50.1 per cent of the participants in the poll oppose this. "CBS-AXA" Centre of Sociological Investigations and Marketing conducted the opinion poll, "Citizens' Political Preferences: 2012 Summer," on a sample of 1,228 people from 91 settlements on 6-15 July 2012. The poll's error margin is +/- 3 per cent.
