From 22 April direct daily services between Moldava and Munich

Today Lufthansa announced its new services between Chişinău and Munich starting 22 April 2010. The new flights will be operated daily, first with a CRJ-900 aircraft, then from 1 July onwards with a larger Airbus A319. Both aircraft are providing seats in a Business and Economy Class configuration. The new flight LH 3257 will leave Chişinău at 13:10 and arrive in Munich at 14:35. Return flight LH 3256 is scheduled to depart Munich at 09:00 and arrive in Chişinău at 12:20. Services have been timed as to allow travelers fast and comfortable connections to numerous important destinations such as New York, Washington, Boston, Tokyo, London, Paris, Barcelona, Stockholm, and many others.

“The fact that we pursue our active investment in Moldova despite the challenging global environment, demonstrates the strategic role of the country and the Central European Region for Lufthansa. Chişinău being the Moldovan centre of commerce has significant potential with its important consumer industries such as the textile business. We hope to meet this growing demand with our new services,” said Tamur Goudarzi-Pour, General Manager Central Europe Lufthansa Group.

“With our daily Lufthansa flights at Chişinău Airport, we would like to connect the Republic of Moldova to our extensive global network,” said Stefan Versemann, Lufthansa General Manager Passenger Sales Romania and Moldova. “Lufthansa is known for offering reliable products and quality services on the ground and on board for both business and leisure travelers and I am confident Moldovans will appreciate our services. In Munich, our most efficient hub we are providing seamless connections to over 115 destinations in 42 countries worldwide as well as exclusive amenities and modern infrastructure,” he added.

Opened in 2003, Lufthansa’s Terminal 2 at Munich Airport boosts a minimum connecting time of only 30 minutes and six Lufthansa lounges including the exclusive First Class Lounge offering highest standards and comfort to unwind and relax, from an a la Carte Restaurant to chauffeur driven limousine services.

Munich itself is an important leisure destination in Germany, offering various attractions, such as the annual Oktoberfest, the beautiful buildings in the historic city centre or Neuschwanstein Castle in the surrounding region. Bavarias’s capital is also much valued by business travelers for its many international fairs, congresses and as a location of renowned businesses.
