Moldova paid foreign debts of three million lei last January
Foreign debts worth 36.8 million lei (three million dollars) were paid last January, in line with the established schedule, so as to fulfill the obligations in terms of foreign loans borrowed by Moldova.
Finance Minister Veaceslav Negruta has said that the main payment of the above sum accounted for 2.5 million dollars, and the interest for 0.5 million dollars.
As much as 35.1 million lei was used for the domestic state debt in January 2010.
On 31 January 2010, the balance of the external state debt stood at 952.9 million dollars.
At the same time, the balance of the domestic state debt was 5,156.8 million lei, and was fully made up of state securities (VMS), of which: VMS issued by auctions 48.4 per cent; converted VMS 42.9 per cent and state securities placed by subscription 8.7 per cent, Veaceslav Negruta said.
