Turkey will continue supporting Gagauzia in humanitarian aspect and in investment. The arrangement was achieved by Gagauzian Bashkan [governor] Mikhail Formuzal and his first assistant Valery Yanioglo during their visit in Turkey.
During the 20-day-long visit, the Gagauzia delegation held 50 meetings with governmental and local authority representatives, also with business representatives. The delegation presented the autonomy’s investment projects.
The Gagauzia Bashkan and Turkish Agriculture Minister Mehmed Mehdi discussed a possible providing Gagauzia with a quota on duty-free supply of 50 K t wheat and barley to Turkish market. Till the end of September, experts will visit Comrat city for projecting an industrial type major animal farm of a closed processing cycle. The farm will be build by the Turkish agency TIKA as a model. Also, some experts will arrive to project greenhouses and 10 cooling chambers in Gagauzia with a common dimension of 10 thousand t.
Gagauzia requested a support in wine sector, so the problem of Gagauzian wine supply in Antalya region is now under consideration.
The TIKA management promised to provide Gagauzia till the end of 2011with US$10 million to finish water supply projecting. Besides, Gagauzia will receive US$50 million for road construction. The both sides decided to build a four-star hotel in Comrat. Head of Turkish aviator association Osman Ildyr said that he will visit the autonomy for studying possibility of creating airport in Ceadir-Lunga.
A meeting with the Turkish organization of industrialists (TOVV) finished with decision to send 20 major company managers in Gagauzia for investment analysis.
