Moldovan premier chairs meeting of national financial stability committee

Prime Minister Vlad Filat today chaired a meeting of the National Committee for Financial Stability, the government's communications and press relations department has said.

Participating in the meeting were the chairman of the parliamentary commission for economy, budget and finances, Veaceslav Ionita, Deputy Premier, Economics Minister Valeriu Lazar, Finance Minister Veaceslav Negruta, government's Secretary General Victor Bodiu, the governor of the National Bank of Moldova, Dorin Dragutanu, the head of the Centre for Combating Economic Crimes and Corruption, Viorel Chetraru, the deputy chairman of the management board of the National Commission of Financial Market, Artur Gherman, and Deputy Prosecutor General Eugen Rusu.

The participants in the meeting discussed the situation in the Moldovan financial-banking sector, in particular, the situation at the Moldovan Banca de Economii (Savings Bank ). They presented comprehensive reports on the matter, reviewing the latest relevant events, as well as the meeting of the bank's shareholders.

The prime minister asked those present to take all the measures needed to ensure the stability of the financial-banking system in Moldova, especially of Banca de Economii.
