The Liberal Party today asked that a special parliamentary meeting should be organized for the Prosecutor General's Office, the Interior Ministry, the Security and Information Service and the State Protection and Guard Service to report on investigations into the 7 April 2009 riots case. Liberal MP Corina Fusu demanded that the meeting be held on 24 or 25 May. "Both the Council of Europe and the EU said we should settle this case as soon as possible. The 15th meeting of the EU-Moldova cooperation committee is expected to be held on 29 May, when we will have to inform about evolutions in the case. That's why, it would be judicious to organize a special meeting on 24 or 25 May," Fusu said. Parliament Speaker Marian Lupu promised that the issue will be considered urgently at a meeting of the permanent bureau.
