The state will earmark about 200 million lei for the restoration of the parliament's building which was looted during the April 2009 post-electoral riots. Moldovan lawmakers voted a draft amendment to the 2012 state budget, in this respect. In line with the draft law, the money will be used to complete the repair works and to provide the parliament with the needed equipment and furniture. In consistency with the draft law, the overall cost of the overhaul works stands at about 231.7 million lei, of which 91.4 million lei was earmarked in 2009-2010. According to the MPs, in order to cover the emerged budgetary spending, the state will issue a string of state securities through subscription.
