Sweden's Loreen has won the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Euphoria” after topping the leader board with 372 points. She was Ladbrokes' favorite to win the show, which was broadcast live from the Crystal Hall in Baku, Azerbaijan. Moldova’s representative Pasha Parfeny ranked 11th of 26 finalists with 81 points, Info-Prim Neo reports.

Moldova gained 12 points from Romania, by 8 points from Denmark and San Marino, by 7 points from Spain, Ukraine, and Russia, 6 points from Portugal, by 5 points from Belarus and Israel, 4 points from Italy. Greece and Montenegro gave Moldova by 3 points, Hungary and Switzerland by 2 points, while Slovenia and Croatia by 1 point.

For its part, Moldova awarded 7 points to the winner, 8 points to Ukraine, 12 points to Romania, while 10 points to the host country, Azerbaijan.

Russia’s bread-baking Buranovskiye Babushki came second with 259 points, 113 points away from the top place.

A number of European countries decided not to take part in the contest this year. Poland, for example, argued that it is involved with the organization of the European Football Championship, while Armenia invoked political reasons.
